How do I keep a desert rose's leaves from fading?

It would be better to gradually introduce inside plants to the outside by putting them in a more filtered sun area rather that immediately putting them out into the direct sun. I don't believe the leaves will return to their dark green until new leaves appear. If it gets really hot and sunny where you live I would keep the plants in a more filtered sun area. They will still get all the sunlight they need without the fading.

It is natural for them to fade and yellow before dropping. If you find they are doing this prematurely, you might do as Gk suggests and make the introduction more gradual.

Thanks ladies. They both are in my living room that is very bright with sky lite plus lots

of windows. It makes sense that even at that bright light, that I shouldn't have just set them

out. One already is showing the leaves darkening again, and the other only slightly. I do realize most plants leaves fade prior to falling off. I think I am just going to keep them inside. Just was reading that the hotter and sunnier it is the better they like it. Shouldn't always take to heart

Thanks to everyone who has helped me with this. I check them all day long LOL to see how they are doing. Their bases are all really healthy green, so guess just have to wait for the new leaves which there are a few now as well.

It sounds like they got a little sunburn in the sun. They will recover and new leaves will be dark green.
