Hello there,
Well you have two choices: 1. to cut the holes to take the fixings or 2: Cut off the lugs and fix the new in the same way your original panels are fixed. Best wishes.

Replace and Rebuild Your Fence!
The spacing between your present posts could vary so first make sure your posts are the exact same distance apart as the replacement panels.
If not, an option would be to just use the pickets.
If it doesn't work out you could make a lot of craft projects from the wood - rustic signs, bird houses/feeders, planters, benches.

How to Repair a Fence Picket
Thanks everyone for your ideas.
I think the easiest thing to do is remove the pickets
and attach them to the existing fence.
Why didn't I think of that??...lol
It sounds like you have enough ideas, yes?
Now is the time to address wood rot, termites & drainage- let alone putting a fresh coat of conditioning stain on all the wood.
My neighbors’ fence (between our houses) had non-treated non-cedar posts that were rotten where they came out of the concrete holes & were leaning a concerning amount.
So they had intermediate posts put in, in between the failing ones.
This should be a pretty simple project if your main posts are in good shape. You can buy the wood pieces at home depot. Simply use a hammer to remove the ones that are damaged and replace them with the new pieces.
Hi Deanna, if your posts are still good, you can use LAG bolts to attach the newer sections of fence to your existing posts, hope this helps you out. Hope these help you out as well

Your fence posts look to be in pretty good shape. A suggestion would be to remove the sections and put the "new used" sections in. It is hard to tell if they are the same height as the existing sections are and hopefully you have enough replacement sections to do this project.
