Hi friends! The last couple of weeks I been looking for some wall decor for my dining room. We are in the middle of a kitchen renovation, I have new white cabinets with black hardware and my appliances are black stainless so I wanted something black to match my modern farmhouse style but I definitely don’t want to pay a lot of money for it. I saw this ferns art print with black canvas and wooden boards and I decided to make my own. Really easy and of course budget friendly. So check it out !

The final result !

The wall hangings are 17” wide x 24”long

One yard of black canvas

To make 2 the same size as mine you will need only 1/2 of the fabric.

Wood stain

I use Early American from Varathane but you can use whatever color you want.

Fabric paint

This is screen printing paint in white. Any other fabric paint will be fine.

One 8ft board

This is a 1inch. X 2inch. X 8 ft. common board . And you will need to cut 4 pieces of 18” .

Cricut machine

I use my cricut to cut my ferns prints stencil . I use vinyl as my stencil material and the prints are from google .

Stencil application

Apply the stencil on your canvas.

I cut my fabric 16” x 24” .

Paint

I use a small brush to apply the paint

Add the boards to the fabric

Now that the paint is dry I use a staple gun to add the boards to the fabric and a piece of string to hang . And is finish.icon

Love this. Can you easily explain how you got the fern print into Design Space, I have a Cricut Air2 and have no idea how to do this. The machine seems so complicated. I would love to try this. Thanks

Is it possible to create a stencil without a Cricut?

Great idea, you could also draw a simple design in chalk as a guide and use regular acrylic paint (don’t water down) to fill in tocreate this without any speciality equipment or supplies.
