While I love art prints as much as the next woman, there is still something charming about real, hand-painted art. You might think you do not have the skill to make your own art, but even simple themes can look beautiful. For this particular art piece, I was inspired by the dandelions blooming around my house. With just two colors of paint, you too can make your own dandelion art.

This easy to make dandelion art is inexpensive and fun to make. This art would be perfect as a housewarming present, Mother's Day gift, birthday gift, or as a present to yourself!

If you have some old frames laying around that you are not sure what to do with them, how about making some dandelion art? Using only a few materials, this unique piece of art is one nearly anyone can make.

These are the full blown dandelion seeds, not the yellow flowers.

Cut your brown paper to the same size as the inside of your picture frame. I chose to do a 5X7 picture, but you can go bigger if you like!

Draw a circle in the center of the paper with black paint.

Add a black stem to the circle.

Draw black likes of varying lengths to represent the seed stems of a dandelion. The more you have, the more authentic your dandelion will look. I wanted mine to look a little abstract, so I kept things simple.

Wait for the black paint to dry.

When the black paint is dry, add a dot of white paint to the end of every stem.

While the paint is still wet, blow on the paint with the straw. This will make it spread out, giving it a fluffy look like real dandelion seeds.

Dried

Once the white paint is dry, add the art piece to the frame and place it wherever it fits best in your house. Be prepared to receive plenty of compliments for this art piece! You may find yourself having to make dozens of these for friends and family members.
