How can I remove label adhesive from glass bottles?

I'm in the process of making one of those bottle trees for the yard with the tomato cage. My neighbor was kind enough to sit through drinking a 6 pack of beer from blue bottles & he even paid for them ! LOL Anyway, I soaked the bottles over night to get the labels off & boy, what a task. I was able to get the labels off but I'm left with the label glue, help ! Can anyone tell me how to get the glue off the bottles? ....Thanks guys !........Madeline

I use cooking oil and baking soda. Just rub til on then wash with dish soap. You can also use Goo gone but I prefer the natural method myself.
Vegetable oil rubbed on the bottle should get the residue off. Then wash in the hottest soapy dish water you can make.
Rubbing alcohol, Good Gone, both should work
WD-40 works great!
I'd try Goo Gone. It works great for anything sticky like a label or price tag.

WD-40 and baking soda made into a paste will get the last bit of the gluey resideue off. Then rinse well.
If you use WD40 or Goo Gone, be aware they are chemical based solvents so wear gloves and have proper ventilation. Another method that works is non-stick cooking spray, Spray it on and let it set for 15 min, rub the bottle and off it comes. You may need to repeat the process if all does not come off at once.
Full strength vinegar also works, moisten the label with it and let it hang out for 10 min or so. Rub it off, you may also need to repeat this if all did not come off.
You can use olive oil to remove the glue. If you want to buy goo gone that works great
too but olive oil is free.
Mr Clean Magic Erasers will take the glue off the bottles just wash them well after removing the glue

Hello. My favorite adhesive remover is lighter fluid. Sometimes also using a retractable razor blade after the application of the lighter fluid assists scraping the moistened paper off.
This is a task! What helps me is putting it through the dishwasher on high heat and steam. Sometimes after that they come right off, but not every time. Good luck!
