This project was a win win. I got two for the price of one!! I updated my ugly ceiling light and repurposed the globe for an accent light elsewhere.

I picked up this basket at The Goodwill!

I can't wait to see this lit up at night!

I knew when I purchased this basket it would be for something special.

I used a chalk pen to mark my opening.

I then used my jig saw to cut the opening out.

I removed the globe fixture and put hooks in the holes.

I fed twine through the basket in 3 spaced areas. Then I just tied them to the hooks and that's it!! Easy basket chandelier!!

I made a base for my globe light out of some scrap wood.

I painted it to give it an aged look.

I just popped some battery operated fairy lights in the globe and set it on my base. I'll probably move it around until I find the perfect home for it. But all in all I'm pretty happy with how these projects turned out!!

How are you turning the fairy lights on and off? Are they battery operated or plug in and how did you run the cord to get to the on - off switch or plug in?
