How do I make DIY hand sanitizer?

Here's a link with a recipe. Be sure the mixture contains at least 60% alcohol. Remember, washing your hands with soap and water is the best way to clean your hands.

Washing your hands with soap and water will get them cleaner. Hand sanitizer should only be used when you don't have an access to a soap, water and a sink. I keep mine in the car so that when I exit a public place I can use it on my hands until I get home to soap and water.

60% alcohol, 40% aloe vera gel and any essential oils you would like for smell :) Is what we've been using.

2:1 alcohol and aloe vera gel. You can add 10 drops of essential oils for scent but not necessary. Then mix. Also, you can make wipes from hydrogen peroxide. It's an anti bacterial and probably isn't in short supply. Alcohol is sold out in many stores in Alabama.

You would need to use 1 part 60% alcohol and double the amount of aloe vera gel. Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 sec is a great germ killer. Be sure to dry your hands very well, under the rings and between the fingers.

Hi Denise, all you need is rubbing alcohol (99 percent alcohol volume) aloe vera gel and an essential oil. Lavender, eucalyptus and tea tree oil are both good choices. Mix 1 part aloe vera and 3 parts rubbing alcohol and then add a few drops of your essential oil of choice.

HI Denise - The CDC recommends alcohol in hand sanitizer, however it's not always appropriate for some folks. This one is made without alcohol if that is an option for you. It's super easy and takes approximately 30 seconds to make. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
