2 parts 99% alcohol (rubbing alcohol also known as isopropyl alcohol) and 1 part aloe vera gel, the alcohol needs to be at least 60% of the product to be effective. If you find this too runny you can add some more aloe vera gel. If you prefer, you can also add essential oils to this sanitizer.
Mix 1/3 cup aloe vera gel & 2/3 cup isopropyl alcohol together and you have what you need.

Hi Donna, all you need is rubbing alcohol (99 percent alcohol volume) aloe vera gel and an essential oil. Lavender, eucalyptus and tea tree oil are both good choices. Mix 1 part aloe vera and 2 parts rubbing alcohol and then add a few drops of your essential oil of choice. If you prefer your hand sanitizer thicker you can add more aloe vera gel.

If you can find it alcohol and aloe vera
I have very sensitive skin and rubbing alcohol irritates and dries it out. So I use 1/4 cup aloe gel to 3/4 cup 100 proof vodka (cheap, unflavored) and add some essential oil. I like lemon and peppermint, both of which help kill bacteria (5 drops of lemon and 2 peppermint).
