What crafts can I do with a bag of approximately 1,000 odd buttons?

I like to look at pinterest for ideas about any random items. Just enter buttons into the search bar and you will find so many awesome ideas.

Hello Barb! I still have old buttons from my Grandmother, born in 1900 and passed away in 1978. Occasionally I have used a few for special craft projects. I display them in old canning jars with metal lids here and there in my home. My grandchildren love to sort through them as there are some unique buttons. You could sort through them and find all the really unique buttons, sew them onto fabric and frame them.

I adore buttons and have many cans and boxes from Mom and Grandma - they did the same thing. I've used them is just about everything craft wise.

Mosaics? Years ago I made with colorful button mosaic tabletop design on a wicker table. You could do the same thing on a tray.

After making a pattern I grouted the buttons in and sealed the grout. It was a one of a kind table top

I’ve seen some cute art made with buttons. Kind of like paint by numbers but with glued on buttons instead. You need a very simple design to do it well. :)

Yes my mom and grandma did the same thing. I had a few buttons from my great grandma that went back to the late 1800's. There are oh so many crafts that you can do. Here are a few sites with bunches of possibilities.

You can make a mosaic with them , or glue them ( use E6000 glue ) to the outside of a planter . Or glue them to a wooden box ( from Michael's ). Cover and end table with them and lay glass over it . Glue them to a vase...
