Polishing Vintage Copper Cookware

I love copper cookware. Buying it new can be so expensive but with a frugal eye, you can collect vintage pieces and polish them up to look good as new!

I have been on the hunt for vintage copper cookware. I have been finding pieces at flea markets, thrift stores, and antique stores.

I keep.my eye out for pieces made in France. This one was particularly grimey!

I set about cleaning the bulk of the grease and grime off using Bar Keepers Friend and a scrubbing pad. I definitely recommend using rubber gloves to protect your hands.

Warning, this takes a lot of elbow grease. The grease is literally cooked on!

In the tighter spots and crevices, I used a tooth brush.

Next, I used metal polish to give the copper a good shine.

Wipe it on and then wipe it off. I did this several times to get a good shine. I used metal poish for this. They have copper polish but after ordering 3 times and having the order canceled, I just used regular metal posish and it worked great!

I think the posts looks amazing! Definitely a trash to treasure story!

I love copper and can't resist buying more when the right one comes along. Lol. I use Bar Keepers myself on all my copper and stainless steel. But the copper still doesn't have the luster that yours appear to have. I am definitely going to try the metal polish. I've thought I had tried everything until I read what you do. Can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing.
