I've always had good luck using the self cleaning feature on my oven. But if you need something more, you can always use something like easy off and make sure you get it all out before using the self cleaning mode again.

if you don't have the book that came with the oven just go to the mfg website online and put in your model number and it will have the manual online with full instructions - usually you turn on the clean cycle, it locks the doors and starts cleaning which takes usually around 3 hrs or more - then wipe out the ash once it is cooled off

Hi. I have the instructions...the problem is the self cleaning option has always cause the control panel to have issues. It has burned out a circuit on the panel twice! After having it serviced several times, I decided not to use it. I rather clean it myself and not worry about how hot it gets doing the self cleaning cycle. I will check with the manufacture to see if they can recommend a products for cleaning it manually. Thanks for sharing.
Understand your situation my oven has been serviced many times so many they refunded purchase price with 5 year service policy.
Fwiw-I choose not to use self clean, uncomfortable with high heat and microwave above—using the spray chemicals masking off the fan area.
I clean the racks out doors inside trash bags and the spray cleaner.
I am not sure what cleaners are actually recommended by the individual manufacturers you are right to be cautious! I hope you find the perfect solution.
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...

Put a large bowl of water in it with some squirts of dish soap heat for like 5 minutes that will loosen all stuff then wash out
