If you are anything like me, you probably have a huge collection of scrap fabric in your home. I found a great way to turn those scraps into something cute for my home by making these easy scrap fabric fish. I love how they turned out and imagine there will be plenty more in my future.

Pull out your fabric!

I cut out a basic fish shape with the fabric. I used another piece of fabric for the face and a fin. Start stitching the face and fin to the fish with embroidery floss.

Add an eye with embroidery floss, another piece of fabric or a button. Place your fish on a piece of felt or fabric and stitch together. Add stuffing to the fish before stitching closed. Trim the extra fabric.

These fish would look adorable placed in a bucket or bowl, but I wanted to hang mine. I added a piece of embroider floss to the head for hanging.

I tied a loop at the end of a piece of yarn for hanging. Then I tied a few knots along the bottom and tied the fish to the yarn. I added the knots so the fish would stay spaced out and not slide down the yarn.

Are these adorable or what? I got creative and added scales to some of my fish and experimented with thicker fins.

These would also be adorable decorations for a fishing or camping party!
