How to Organize Your Scrap Wood

Hi, I'm Amber Oliver! I hope if you enjoy this project you'll also stop by my blog!

It is time for spring cleaning! One area of our home that never gets any attention is our garage. Is it the same in your house? Things just pile up out here because it's easy to just drop things on the work bench or let them pile up in the corner instead of putting them away. Then there are the items we don't know what to do with! In our garage it was the scrap wood pile - I had no idea how to organize it!

We started with a blank space. Because our garage isn't finished, you can easily see where all the studs are. This made it super simple to put up shelves!

We used track shelving to store our scrap wood pile! This couldn't have been easier to install!

When you hang your tracks, hang them at different heights so you can have " shelves" at different levels.

I suggested figuring out the longest board you plan to store and set your brackets to have those in the middle.

What makes this so simple is you don't have to measure and cut "shelves". You just make sure the brackets are far enough apart to have your scrap wood lay across them :)

What do you use the track bracket for? I have put up many shelves in my lifetime & never used these.
