How would I make a nice garden reflector to shine into dark corners?
I am thinking I would like to hang a large reflecting surface/mirror in my garden, on a large tree. The tree faces a very dark area in my garden, and I think it would be a nice way to reflect sunlight into a dark corner of the garden, but I want something pretty - like maybe in the shape of the sun. How would I hang it on the tree?

You can hang a mirror on a tree by tying a rope or a wire wrapped with rope around the tree, or suspending it from a branch near the trunk. Sounds like a great addition to your yard!
I would hang it from one of the branches, that would be so pretty!
If you could find a disco ball to hang that would look awesome!
Amazon carries solar torches where the solar part looks like flickering flames. Also what about rope lights? And yes they even make solar rope light sets but I haven't found any that are as bright as a regular set.
A motion sensing light would help too. Costco carries one of the best I have seen and it runs less then $45.
If the tree you want to hang the mirror is far from the dark corner you can do it. If it's close to the area it would be too bright and not diffuse the light enough. You can use a painted/decorated framed mirror. Hang it from a branch or the tree trunk. One thing to consider is as the sun moves the mirror doesn't. it may also be too bright and harm any birds. Also birds may crash into it thinking the reflection is real.
I was going to suggest a disco ball also! You could paint a clear layer of waterproof Mod Podge over it also.

You can put a nail in a tree and hang off that!
Use a chain or get one in a frame then hang by the frame
You might be better with solar lights get some at the dollar store to try
Hello Jolene,
Unless the sun is going to hit the mirror it will not work. Best to use a plastic mirror or lightweight alternative for safety reasons. You can buy Sunburst mirrors! A Mobile of small mirrors might work too. Alternative suggestion is to use bright /light colours in the dark corner.
