What paint for laqu er furniture
thanks so much
Anna: you can use chalk paint on anything! (You might even want to dark wax the details!)
Hi Anna: First of all, if the surface is smooth, you will have to sand the furniture as nothing will stick to a smooth surface for long. You can also use a product called Liquid Sandpaper or Sandpaper in a Can, just follow directions on the can. Then again, you could uses CitriStrip to remove the lacquer. Then, a latex paint could be used.

You will have to do a bit more prep work for a shiny surface if you choose chalk paint.
Chalk paint is the best paint ...No prep work needed

Hi! Prep is important if you want the finish to last:
Sand with 150 grit sandpaper to remove any gloss. Prime with Kilz primer. Then paint you color. Latex acrylic paint should work. Seal with three coats of a water based polyurethane
Chalk paint is easy to use
Chalk paint is easy, but if you want a shiny finish, then go with what William suggested.
Chalk paint is my favorite for covering wood.
thanks so much
Hi! Chalk paint is also my favorite! No priming or sanding required before hand! Annie Sloan is one of my favorite to use!
You are welcome! :)
I would use Benjamin’s more that’s the best
I see everyone saying chalk paint, but on a highly lacquered surface, you should do a light sanding, no matter what paint you decide to use. I'd love to see the furniture!
If you choose chalk paint be sure to top coat it or a wax finish, otherwise it will chip off.

I would recommend using a primer and then chalk paint.
