I use them for painting projects, waxing over chalk paint, staining, cutting them up to sew things with, making t shirt yard for rugs, and right now my dog is wearing one to keep most of the mud off his fur as he tears through the muddy yard after squirrels and his observation of people walking by or the garbage man stopping at the neighbors!

Right now you could make some protective masks for seniors, the disabled and nursing and hospital facilities. T-shirt and pillow case fabric are two recommended fabrics. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube. Be sure to sanitize and put each in a ziplock bag before distributing.
Hi! I use them for rags once they have gotten stains, paint, etc. on them. If they can't be put in the donation bin and the color is pretty, I sometimes use strips of them in rag wreaths or weaving.
If you have a dog that is cold put the t-shirt on so you see the front tie the bottom in a knot so they don’t pee on it.

It depends on the quality of the old shirt. If it's tattered, I use it as a rag. If the color has faded but it is otherwise fine, it becomes loungewear or even pajamas. I have yet to turn them into yarn, but it's on my list of things to do.
