Hi Car: The other day I had to run out to the store and didn't have a face mask. So, I took a paper towel (Viva), folded it lengthwise a couple of times, scrunched and folded over the ends and put a rubber band in the fold and stapled it shut. Wore that to the store and it worked very well. And, since it's a paper towel, I can throw it away, keeping the rubber bands, and have a new one at a moments notice. Took about 2 minutes to do. Viva is a very soft paper towel, but any should do. Good luck
