I really dont think it will work, but I have never tried it. Most recipes use a latex paint. Maybe mix up a small batch and do a test run.

No! Chalk paint is definitely not oil based. Try Emulsion with plaster of paris - maybe or Talc powder (French chalk)?
No you can't! Chalk paint is not oil based. You need to use latex paint-preferably flat latex paint.

Hello Noc... I don't think it's a good iea to use oil paint because it will be almost impossible to remove once it dries, and i don't this oil paint has the proper texture for it. That being said, here is a link with 3 ways to make your own chalk paint
