DIY Colorful Floral Pots With Mod Podge

For this project you will need the following.
- Clay pots
- White paint
- Mod Podge
- Paint brushes
- Napkins
- Scissors
Start by painting the pots white and letting them dry. The white base will help the flowers really stand out.
To prep your napkins, gently pull apart the layers. Toss the white backing and keep the thin colorful layer. Cut a strip of napkin to wrap around the pot. You can use a couple and overlap them as needed.
Paint a thin coat of mod podge over the dry white paint. Then place the napkin over the top. Gently smooth our the napkin and remove any bubbles.
To finish, apply a top coat of mod podge over the napkin and let this dry.
When everything is dry you can cut off any excess napkin that it hanging over the edges.
The mod podge will seal in the colorful flowers and these pots will hold up well outdoors.

I actually like the way it looks with the napkin going up onto the top part of the flowerpot instead of trimming it down!

After you put the napkin and mod podge on, can it be removed to change to a different pattern?
Do you need to seal with poly or something else?
I love to see what people do with decoupaged napkins. Cheap, quite easy to do and brings color into your home. It has been my experience however that the color of the napkins doesn't hold very long once exposed to light. Has anyone else experienced this? I must admit though I haven't done a lot of this.
