I love a good chippy painted dresser! Here is how you can get the look!

This is what the dresser looked like before. The old finish had been scratched up, but the dresser itself is solid as a rock!

The easiest way to get a chippy finish is to use powdered milk paint. It naturally chips here and there on some pieces of furniture, creating an old looking finish.

After the black milk paint was mixed up, I painted it onto the dresser with a paint brush. This particular paint is very very pigmented and the coverage is excellent. To the point that you might only need one coat of paint!

After the milk paint was dry, I sanded the paint to help the milk paint flake off.

When I was happy with the distressing and chipping, I cleaned off the dust and then sealed it with a few coats of water based poly. I like to spray it on with my paint sprayer.

Look at all that chippy goodness going on!

To finish it off, I attached new white knobs for the super popular black and white look.

Milk paint is super easy to use, and it's quickly become my favorite paint!
