Hi my fellow hometalkers. Are your paint- pens the same as our felt-tip pens? ( maybe to do grouting?)

Yes, they do look like felt-tip pens, but I've never used them on grout.

I don't know if paint pens would be waterproof or be very durable. The grout pens I have seen also kill mold and mildew as well. I don't think a paint pen would do that. Perhaps you could use them on wall backsplash tile in a kitchen to refresh color but probably not in a shower or on a floor.

You would have to make sure they are waterproof.

I'm unsure what your question is but since you mentioned to do grouting, my guess is you are wanting to paint your grout. If you are not using a grout paint kit I would suggest using an artist brush to paint the grout.

Grout pens are paint. Felt markers and not for grout.

Felt tip markers are ink based. Paint pens are paint. The felt tips are also different composition. If you just want to draw grout lines felt tip markers would create better lines. Paint pens would flow a little too much paint.

If you are looking to change the color of your grout, I highly recommend Mapei Grout Refresh. I have changed the color in two bathrooms, and have had zero problems in 4 years or so. Floor and Decor sells it and has about 5 colors and is half the price of Amazon, but Amazon has 20 colors and if you go to the Mapei website they say they have 32 colors.

What are you wanting to do? - clean your grouting in-between the tiles, or change the color of the grouting?

Paint pens are not the same as felt tipped pens. I use the Sharpie paint markers that have actual pain in them either water or oil based. https://amzn.to/2yrNc0h
