Techniques for painting furniture?
Can anyone recommend a book or site specifically for techniques on painting furniture? Like already stained furniture vs clean, bare wood vs sanding stain first vs painting directly over stain? Thanks in advance!

Hi Pookie
There are so many ideas online that would help you. It depends on the type of furniture you want to paint, whether it be wood, laminate, etc. Here are a few ideas and you can also google paint for whatever you want to do and get thousands of ideas and suggestions. You could save the videos for future use and also go to the websites of Behr and sherwin williams paints for awesome ideas.

No book recommendation but this site is an excellent resource. As a general rule of thumb, if the wood doesn't need repaired you can either clean with TSP or scuff with steel wool then clean with denatured alcohol. Then you are ready to prime and paint.
You can paint almost anything if prepped properly first. I like to scrub a piece first, sand the finish that is glossy or shiny and then seal it with a good sealer like Kilz to prevent bleeding through. Then paint and seal. Good luck and stay safe!
