How can I divert rainwater from my downspout in an attractive way ?

I have a downspout that drains directly into the garden that is up against the wall of my house which causes it to flood. I just need to push the water out a little bit more so it skips over the garden and flows into the yard. I’ve checked out extenders and splashblocks but my wife thinks they’re ugly and thinks they will take away from the look of my house. Are there any other options that actually look good?

You can use what’s known as a “decorative downspout extension”. They are made to look like statues so they look good and also divert the water at the same time. Some have open mouths so they look like spitting statues. We installed three and get compliments all the time. Just keep in mind that they don’t extend as far as other options. This is what i am planning to do once the weather warms up!
A small extension isn't too distracting or ugly. I put drain pipe on the end of my downspouts (elbow removed). The pipe is buried underground and extends away from the house to a dry well. A dry well is just a hole filled with rocks of various sizes and allows water to accumulate and disperse into the ground. Landscape fabric in the hole and above the rocks can help keep dirt from filling around the rocks.

Hello. The most attractive we may not be the easiest. You can buy black solid drain tile and bury your drains sending them outwards from the foundation to a nearby area. It’s always the best case for the home to divert the rainwater outward away from the house
