How can I dye or paint my bungee chair?
Basicsally I have had this bungee chair forever, but I am redoing my room and don't exactly want to get rid of it, but I don't like the color anymore. What are some ideas on how to paint or dye it? What should I use? Thanks!
This is an example of the kind of chair it is.

There was no picture attached. Not sure what it is but if wood or rattan you can spray paint it.
There are fabric sprays you can use for painting it
Hi Kaylalala. I like the idea of using stencils. Since the chair is in your bedroom, I suggest using soft pastel colors. Good luck Kaylalala. Stay well and healthy.
Hi this is Peggy. I found a question similar to yours answered by our great tem of hometalkers. I hope this helps you. Stay well. I agree, paint will just crack and peel off a stretchy cord like bungee cords..... I would use Rit Dye in the spray bottle technique.... no need to take cords off..... https://www.ritdye.com/techniques/tie-dye/squirt-bottle-technique/ they have a new formula for synthetics called Dye More
Hi! These are great suggestions, but, just to be different, how about something like this?

You could always use spray paint.
Hi there,
You could make tie on pillows/cushions!
Use a fabric spray paint. Do you know what kind of fabric it is? They even have outdoor fabric spray paints for a heavy duty use. Here is a good brand to use :

This spray paint is very good, I even used it on faux leather. Check out my post:

Sounds like a fun project. Good luck!
Did you try fabric dye. Take outside and test an area underneath the seat. Paint will not adhere well since the bungee material must stretch. If it is a poly blend the dye won't take well but worth a try. Mix a batch of Rit dye and try to paint on a small spot under the seat to see it it works.
Dye should work. Paint will crack.
Agree with Kathy dye is absorbed and doesn't sit on the surface as much as paint does. But go with colors that work with what you already have. That will make all the pieces seem intentional and not like an after thought.
The dye will penetrate the surface and cover better than paint will. If possible, test it out in an area you don't see and go from there.
