Here's one I made out of a child desk. Basically you need a framework for your drawers, a base to lift them to a workable height (we built a wood platform with wheels), and a top to work on. Hope mine gives you an idea or two!
Why not add Stone metal Caster wheels and a towel rail at each end. Take the top drawer front off and then either fix it in place or hinge the drawer front back on with a magnetic clasp? The back of the unit could be used for hooks to hold oven mitt or tea towels. Paint up to match decor.
