I personally find bleach works the best. There are pens on the market that you can use to paint the grout. But this option can be very time consuming and the results are not consistent.
I use a soft bristle brush (an old toothbrush works) and a paste of baking soda and water. If it still looks dingy, it may need some hydrogen peroxide. A sealer keeps grout from staining. Good luck and stay safe!
I use Tilex, spray it on, let it work for about 20 minutes, adding to it to keep wet. Then use a scrub brush with Soft Scrub. Rinse, let dry over nite or 24 hours, then seal with tile & grout sealer once cleaned. You won't have to work so hard next time.

If the grouting sealant has already worn off, the porous (unsealed) grouting will be absorbant, making it look dirty again very quickly.
