Thanks to all who have answered! I found this piece with two inch shallow drawers and I’m going to paint it and use it for my jewelry. A coastal blue or green color, and trying to decide on type of paint if anyone has additional advice. I am new to this.
Chalk paint is a mixture of paint, calcium carbonate (Chalk), and other additives such as plasters of paris. It's mostly used for furniture b/c it can be used over just about any surface and it dries very quickly.
Chalk paint is easy to use. Since this has a dark stain, you may want to give it a coat of shellac or prime it to prevent bleed-through. Great find, btw!

I would use chalk pain also ,its easy not much prep and soft look.
