How do i keep chalk paint projects from turning yellow with my sealer

In my experience all oil based sealers (polyurethanes and shellacs) will yellow over time no matter how they claim to be different these days. I've never had any trouble with water based sealers (polyacrylics) doing that at all.

I would try a different brand of sealer

and keep the finished product out of direct sunlight. Sometimes that can warp things

You need to use a water based product. Check and see if yours is oil based. They have a yellow tint.

Use Rustoleom s top coat. It's water based and stays clear. However sometimes yellowing occurs because the old finish is coming thru. To prevent this you have to use a stain blocking primer like Kilz before painting.

It’s likely your sealer causing this. Always test first but be sure to read the product label for non-yellowing as well as user reviews.
