How to remove paint from hinges

how to remove paint from hinges on cabinets doors still attached . want to paint kitchen but so much painted over hinges , screws won't budge.
will i need to cut around hinge to remove so that the paint doesn't come off in chunks around hinge making even more prepping nessecary???
NOTE : cabinet doors are still attached to base and uppers. must be 5 layers of paint over screws and outside of hinge.
need a way to get paint off screws and hinges so i can clean hinges or maybe replace hinges

I removed the paint with acetone. The kind you get in Lowes or Home depot not nail polish remover. Use in a well ventilated area. Get the paint off the screws then use a screw driver to get the screws out. Remove the hinges, and place in boiling water with a few drops of Dawn. Let sit overnight. Paint will come right off.

Scuff with steel wool. If there is any peeling, you need to scrape first, I would use a metal scraper.
Hello. I would suggest putting the hinges in a mason jar with paint remover.
Take a cotton ball soaked in acetone. Tape it to the hinges, the side with the screws. Let sit for about 1/2 hour. then take a scraper or exacto knife and get the paint off well enough to use a screwdriver. Unscrew the hinges and take screwdriver to side of hinge to take off, Once you get the hinges off, boil them in hot water. Let sit till cool and you should be able to get all the paint off if you want to reuse those hinges.
Dee has great suggestions. If acetone doesn’t work, you could try paint thinner.
To remove the hinges use a flat blade screwdriver and place it over the screw slot and bang the handle with your palm. The paint should chip off the screw heads. Then you can unscrew them. Use a utility knife and cut the paint around the hinge. To remove the paint since there is so much, you can soak in Citristrip stripper or boil them in water on the stove
