It is helpful to pour water on the areas after your dogs use an area to dilute it as much as possible.
Rhonda... I laid down a sand layer and then a gravel layer. ...looks better than dead grass.
Hi Rhonda, male or female, they both kill the lawn, I reseed every year, not from dog damage but from shade kill. You can water where your dog pees to dilute it, that will reduce damage, and it's likely too late to retrain. Hope this link also helps you out.

I have heard if you pour beer on the spots they will disappear faster
We buy a product that is called "Grass Saver". You can find it on-line or at pet stores. Throw the recommended number of cubes into the dog's feed dish. They are soft and chewy and the dog will gobble them up.
Hello. I have trained my dog ( current and past) to pee in the mulch) over the past 19 years -so I may not be aware if all possible solutions but this product is fairly new, and I have not personally tried it. It may be worth investigating researching reviews and Q+As.

We had problems with dog urine devastating the green grassy turf. When the human leash training and otc urine ph supplement and other recommendations failed-We resorted to a remote training collar to train our dogs over the last 17+ years. This collar is exactly the same principle as our existing invisible fence, but you can resort to a tone only button initiation to keep the dog away from an area you’re trying to protect. There are two different zap modes of nick and shock that you initiate and regulate by a intensity dial. Its the same type of collars hunting dogs use.
I do realize these Remote training collars are not for all people but if you using invisible type fence already- it’s likely a great option. My dogs were trained to pee and in mulched area and our grass has been great the last 17years. After training they don't need to wear the collar.
You might consider keeping them tethered to an area and take them for walks.
