How to make melt and pour soap with dandelion infused oil. This easy soap recipe also has poppy seeds to exfoliate and essential oils that are great for the skin.

Dandelions have many benefits for the skin. They are high in vitamins and mineral to promote skin health. I also added essential oils that are said to promote healing and skin cell regeneration.

You'll need:

  • 1 pound melt and pour soap
  • 1/2 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoons dried calendula
  • 1 teaspoon dandelion infused oil
  • 48 drops lavender essential oil
  • 24 drops Roman chamomile essential oil
  • 16 drops ylang ylang essential oil
  • Mica
  • Mold
  • Pyrex measuring cup
  • Digital scale
1

Cut 8 ounce of soap into 1 inch chunks. Melt in the microwave 30 seconds at a time. Add poppy seeds, green mica, 1/2 teaspoon dandelion infused oil, and half of the essential oils.

2

I propped the soap mold up on one side with two notebooks so the first layer would be slanted. Divide the soap between 4 of the cavities. Spray the top with rubbing alcohol and let sit for half an hour.

3

Melt the other 8 ounces of soap. Add calendula, 1/2 teaspoon dandelion oil, and the other half of the essential oils. Stir well.

4

Let the soap cool for a minute, stir again, and spray the green layer with rubbing alcohol again to help the layers stick. Pour the soap over the green layer. Spray the top with alcohol and let sit until completely cool, about 2 hours.

You can use your soap right away. It doesn't need to cure. This makes a great bar for the bath or you can use it as a hand soap.

Essential oils and poppy seeds can be pricey. For the $10 listed as the cost of the project, how many squares did you get for this amount?
