How do you install a sliding barn door in a modular?
Any suggestions on how to install barn doors inside a modular? Also where is a good place to find them at a good price? Is it possible to use one for the back entrance to the house, or would that be to odd?

as far as installing a barn door as an entrance door, I would think that it would be a security risk. You could add a lock but the door would not be insulated and would be easy to break or remove for entry to your home.

Barn doors don’t seal very well so they are better as an interior door. You can make almost any door a sliding door with barn door hardware. :)
You would not want to use a barn door for an exterior door!
Hi! I agree that a barn door would be a security and energy issue. However, I have seen them used to cover an entrance for extra security. They were on hinges, and had the look of real barn doors, meeting in the center where they locked. Prices have come down on the kits since I bought one a few years ago. Even a traditional build sometimes needs a beefed up header to hang the heavy hardware and doors.
I would suggest checking with your home insurance carrier first before installing a barn door as an exterior door. It may not meet requirements as to what your insurance policy deems adequate.
If your modular home has a barn door as an entrance door, you may not be covered by your policy if you were to file a claim for theft or fire damage.
