Make the forms using thin strips of wood or dowels. Then staple chicken wire on to the forms. Place the forms on top of the plant that vines. Good luck. Stay healthy and well.
Use timber to for a frame in the style and shape you want, then attach thinner lathes to it using a staple gun or hammer and nails or you could use screws if you prefer. You could do any design you fancy, there is no right or wrong. Squares, Diamonds etc. As long as it is good to your eye - it is good! Leave as is or stain or paint as required. NB: It would help if you decorated the parts before construction!
