Question on queen palm base lifting and pulling up? Will it fall?

Hello we have a queen palm that we started noticing showing its roots. Is this something to worry about? We just got the fronds trimmed a couple months ago since it was touching our house roof. We are worried with the base pulling up the tree might fall on our property. Do we need to get an arborists to cut it down? Please advise. Thank you.

The answer really depends upon the extent of root exposure. Queen palms should be planted on the shallow side, with the roots just beneath the soil surface. If planted too deeply, the trunks will rot. Cutting or tearing off the exposed roots will result in stress and possible death of your palms so I wouldn't recommend clipping the roots off. Instead, I would carefully cover the exposed roots with a little soil, taking care to keep the soil away from the trunk. If the roots are very large, or if they continue to push up, you may need to excavate the earth directly beneath the roots and coax them down a little deeper. It can be a laborious process, but your Queen palms will be healthier for it.

I don't know a precise answer for you but look up at the crown. It's possible you may have a strangler fig growing up there.

Could you take photos of it and go to a local nursery that sells palm trees and see what they say ?
I recently learned they have a fairly shallow root ball. I would get it checked out, and it may need to be reinforced to stabilize it. Good luck and stay safe!
I’m sure you’ve already fixed this issue..I just wanted to add (for anyone looking for a solution) that I had a queen palm doing this and I mixed new soil in a bucket and added water until I made a mud..I added the mud to all the exposed roots packing it well..the palm recovered and started growing strong with solid roots

Depends on how much soil it has to grow in. I should imagine it would lean before it falls, so you will get a warning! Call in a Gardener! Looking at the picture, I can see a crack between the raised wall takes that surround it! Maybe fill the crack with epoxy. If it hold - great - If not maybe dismantle the wall and check the ground!
