If you use a special spray paint made for plastic it should work. Rustoleum and Krylon are two brand names. Clean it well, let dry, and then paint. I have used both of these products on plastic Adirondack chairs and they lasted for several years before they faded. The paint did not peel. The chairs were out on the deck in sun and rain for 3 seasons a year so I was happy that I could make them look better.

  • Yes, you can. Buy spray paint that is multi-surface and follow the instructions.

Yes you can; I've spray painted several then purchased stencils and used them to add either flowers, leaves or Mandela patterns. I have done this same technique on 2 resin planting carts that were being thrown out as the plastic surface was worn so owners were unable to clean back original color. I've also done it to resin chairs, loungers, tables that were being thrown out. Brought new life to them and I got to paint and decorate in colors and designs of my choosing. I've even repainted plain old pots from the nursery for flowering plants in the summer and to create a stacking arrangement have painted empty kitty litter buckets, put them to side down then used them to put a group of potted flowers stacked on top of varying sized painted buckets. Using different stencils and patterns you can create your own unique color and design for either your patio, porch or deck. All you need is spray paint in colors you like and a bunch of stencils. I've picked up some inexpensive stencils on Amazon in their outlet or warehouse section. During the year if I'm in a Michael's or other craft store I always check if they have any on clearance. They even sell some that are slightly thicker and you can use the premixed plaster that you use to fill in any holes in you wall prior to painting. You place the stencil on whatever surface you want to redo (I did a large jewelry armoire that needed painting) then you use a large putty knife to spread the plaster over the stencil filling in all the cutouts until you have the plaster level with stencil. Lift off stencil carefully and the stencil design remains. The player slightly raises the design; when you have applied as many designs as you like when dry very lightly sand then paint. It creates a raised/relief effect. You can used different accent colors or finishes over the raised designs or just leave them painted. They can transform a piece of furniture into a very elegant and original conversation piece. Wherever your imagination takes you. I use so much spray paint I pick up colors I like whenever I see them on sale throughout the year.

Happy spray painting; it can get addictive; I purchased an electric spray painting machine, well worth it for big jobs.

Hello. The plastic friendly spray paints to work nicely but eventually left out doors the painted items might fail-be in need of repeat application of the spray paint. I had spray-painted several resin Adirondack chairs and the paint last several years but within 5 to 7 years they finished it become brittle chippy.
