Chg windows to walls?

We have 10 cedar framed windows 6X3. My roommate made them for a cedar screened porch and then the customers backed out. I would like some privacy. So he has hinged a few together in 2's. 9th3rs singles. Last night he put 2 up that were attached to a 2' wooden privacy fence. He put a support beam from the 2 outside edge. The winds were probably 30 mph and they tore the screens up. It's on concrete. Small patio.

Sounds ingenious. Is it working well for you? Do you have a question or just sharing the idea?

If you want it for privacy I would go to home depot and get drop clothes and put them in the center eather staple or put them on the old frames

It sounds like you need a better way to mount them? If the wind tore them up, was it that the frames were knocked over? Really could use more information, please?

    Hello Dianna,

If you are making a privacy fence from windows you would need to have each window attached to an upright ,on both sides, otherwise the hinged area will be the weak point and flap about. Hope that helps.

The question is not clear. What are you trying to accomplish? A new way to mount them? A substitute for the screening? Are they windows or screens for windows? How did you attach them and to what? Please repost since we don't know what you want to do, and do not understand 9th3rs singles.

Em, I think that was a typo for others singles.

"So he has hinged a few together in 2's. 9th3rs singles. " If you look at the numbers above the "o" and "e", that makes sense.

Can you share an image of the current scenerio?

I agree a picture would help!

  • You should be able to add new screens to them, perhaps he could help with this? My husband has replaced the screen on our patio door in the past and it was a quick and easy job.

Hi Dianna. If you want to use the windows on your patio, you will need to build some sort of structure to house them. For privacy use sheer fabric attached to each window. Good luck Dianna. Stay well.
