Crooked hanging light

How do I straighten out this hanging light fixture? When I purchased the house this fixture was already in place. I tried turning it I tried removing the glass and putting it back on nothing seems to work. it's not severely crooked but it's crooked enough where it's driving me crazy

Can you bend the rod part to straighten it? I think that's where the problem is. :)

The rod is secured by the nut at the bottom, so it does not bend

if the base is not level when attached, tht needs to be fixed....maybe by simply tightening the screws more to make the base level, but if the rod is the problem, that needs to be straightened if possible.

    Hello there,

Is the ceiling level - try using a spirit level on it. Could be you would need to compensate one side a bit. Hope that helps a bit!

Like someone else said, it looks like the little pewter-colored end cap might need to be adjusted. If it's not the felt spacer in there causing a problem, I'd add a little something to tilt the glass toward the other side--a little tape or something like that.

That's strange--I thought it would come apart completely and there would be a felt washer in there that was crooked. Let us know if trying to wedge something in there works!

Hello. I’m wondering if adding another piece of chain link might help it hang more freely and straight.

Additionally-The electrical wire and the links are usually woven together e to be discreet placement for the electricity line to be threaded. Perhaps either the chain link or the electrical line has too much tension on it causing it to not hang level.

Maybe trying to gently wiggle the rod and wired chain to see if they can loosened into a more natural dependent level positioning?

I hope you find the perfect solution.

It's not o a chain link at all. I tried pushing the electrical wires back up oin the hole becaus i previously puled them down when messing with this thing. Whe the glass is off, the fixture is straight

You might try adding a wash to one side or some other type of spacer. It is most likely because settling has caused it to no longer be perfectly level, which is common.

There are two plastic clear washers, they may not be in the correct places though

    Hello again,

In that case try the spirit level on the glass shade. Maybe that needs a small wedge to level it.........Let's hope so.

The weight of the glass and the bottom cone may be the problem. The cone may be just enough off balance. Hold the rod with one hand and gently push against the glass away from the direction of the lean with the other hand. Try to center the glass opening to the rod. Step back a few times to see how it looks

That's EXACTLY the problem and I did exactly like you suggested before I even saw your comment

      She's straight now
