How To Update Thrift Store Candle Holders

I found some super cheap candle holders at a thrift store that were dated, and one was even broken. I knew with a little update and makeover they would be beautiful and look like something that came from a place like Cozy Cottage. You can see more of my crazy creations here

Here are the original candle holders. I cleaned them up so they'd be ready for painting.

I painted each candle holder with Folk Art White Wood Tint using a chip brush going for a Farmhouse look. I painted on 2 coats and let them dry completely.

After they dried I added E6000 glue to the top of each candle holder.

I placed mason jars on the glue on top of the candle holders. I let these dry completely.

This is the other candle holder I found at the thrift store. It was super inexpensive, and as you can see something was missing from the top of it. I wiped the piece clean to get it ready for painting.

I painted the candle holder with Folk Art Color Shift Black/Gold Paint. I painted 2 coats on and let it dry completely.

I added E6000 glue to the top of the candle holder and added a mason jar to the top of this one as well. I let it dry completely.

I bought solar fairy lights, and I added them to all of the mason jars. The solar panel is in the lid, so I just had to put the lights in the jar, and screw the lid on. I did this to all of the candle holders.

I placed my wooden candle holder by my fire place and next to a candle holder I had gotten from IKEA. I set a mason jar on top of that holder as well.

Here is the other set, and I love how the fairy lights remind me of fireflies.
