Menards sells replacement swings. There must be directions...I hope! You may have to remove the hooks/eye hooks from the top bar where the swings are attached to replace the swing. You might even need to get new eye hooks.
Please consider posting a photo. If we can see what you have to work with we will then be able to offer realistic suggestions on how you might be able to improve it. Maybe replace the seat with wood?
Is your swing seat, metal, wood, plastic, rubber. Perhaps you can unhook/remove it from the rope or chain it's now attached to and make a pattern of a similar material to replace.
My swing seat had mesh, not canvas, but a friend measured it and made a board to rest on each end of the seat frame and slide between the side bars of the back and I added cushions I had in the storage building. . I have back problems and so it is not as comfortable (to me) as the mesh, but it sure beats not having a swing. My dog and I spend a lot of time sitting there, so I put an old comforter over the top of the cushions -- much easier to wash when he puts muddy paws on it.

Is it a wood, plastic or metal seat? Is it a child's swing? Most manufacturers have replacement parts. Good luck and stay well!
What type of swing is it?
Photos and a good descriptions save a lot of time and give you better answers.
What kind of swing seat? Most are attached by a chain so you can unhook and hook the new one in its place.
Please give specifics on your swing set and what it wrong, also the type it is, a picture would help.
