My front door on my mobile home. I want to repaint it but I need to get this paint off first . I have used paint stripper which does not work. The man at the mobile home replacement store said the paint was probably vinyl which is put on at the factory. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to remove this paint.
Possibly if you use a heat gun and heat small areas at a time you may be able to scrape it off. Just a thought--not sure if it would work. Be careful--the heat gun and the door will get hot! Wave the heat gun back and forth rather than aiming it at just one area and when you set the heat gun down while you scrape put it on something that won't burn or melt!

Pressure washer.

I agree. A heat gun or even a blow dryer. Keep it moving to soften the paint and scrape it off. You don't want to burn the paint. Also be careful the fumes are pungent and can be harmful.

Apply paint thinner to the painted area with a paint brush. Pressure wash the area on a setting of 80 psi. Make sweeping motions with the nozzle and stop periodically to check the progress.

I agree with above comments regarding using a heat source. It might heat the vinyl enough so that you can scrape it off. We have a metal front door too. The evening sun gets so hot that it peels the paint. Every couple yrs I scrape and repaint. I use a paint made especially for metal doors . It's made by Rustoleum and is an oil based paint.

Paint stripper or a heat gun and scraper will work.

Try a paint thinner and plastic scraper.

Paint thinner thins paint, paint stripper removes it.
Try Citristrip. It is a thick gel and would hold on to the paint if you don't wish to remove the door and lay it down.

I would for sure use a heat and water pressure
I would try a paint scraper.
you could try sanding it off or using a paint remover and then Kilz as a primer before repainting it
Sanding it or a paint scraper
