How can I cover the decking floor in my screened porch? ?

My porch sits over a 12 in space, so I can't get under it to staple screen-wire. I'd like some kind of covering over the decking to keep the bugs out . We've had indoor/outdoor carpeting on it, but I would love some other suggestions. I don't want tiling because we would have to put down cement board and the height would be too high for the doorways.

Could you try some astro turf carpet? Or you could lay down 1/4 inch plywood and paint it with exterior floor and porch paint.
Sounds like the ground underneath the deck should be treated.
I might put a plastic vapor barrier on top and then add thin wood under lament. Finish as desired.
we put up sheeting for under deck use that keeps out critters and lets the water drain off as well

On the surface you can use 1/4" plywood like Gk suggests. For underneath you can roll out landscape fabric on the ground. Then staple screen wire around the perimeter. It will prevent bugs and varmints from getting under the deck.
