I find that the rubber gasket on the door gets wet and doesn't fully dry out, making it smell moldy, so you need to get into all those nooks and crannies and clean it really well. After you do that, try to dry it out every time you do a load or it will get that way again.
Several different methods

After running through the clean cycle, wipe all gaskets and parts with white cleaning vinegar. Keep the washer open as much as possible to help prevent smells in the future.
I wipe mine out after each use including the rubber gasket which holds mold and mildew- I use Clorox wipes or lysol wipes -I also use white vinegar- it is best to clean and then leave open when you are done to air dry

Check your owner's manual (usually available in detail, online) before using vinegar or bleach, as this invalidates the warranty on some manufacturers' washers.
Remember to fully remove the detergent drawer after use , dump any remaining water, dry thoroughly before reinserting, then leave pulled out until next use. Also check the drain hose usually located on lower front, and the filter in that same area. Gasket inside door and door itself should be wiped dry after each use. Prop door open when not in use. You can purchase Affresh tablets for many machines a run a very hot sanitize cycle without laundry in the drum.
Get a box of Afresh cleaner and run it through the machine also leave the door open between loads
I run an empty cycle with either vinegar or bleach as a detergent substitute. Make sure to prop the door open between washes.
