You can add essential oils for scent if you want to.

Hi Christine - The CDC recommends washing your hands first, and also alcohol in hand sanitizer, however it's not always appropriate for some folks. This one is made without alcohol if that is an option for you. It's super easy and takes approximately 30 seconds to make. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
