Any ideas why my bathroom gfci outlet does not get power?

Hi Mike, are you sure there is power going to the GFCI outlet?

The GFCI is made to blow before a breaker does. It cuts power immediately to itself so no one gets electrocuted. There should be a reset button on the GFCI that pops out when it blows. Push the reset button in and see if you have power. Of course you need the outside power connected to do this. If the reset button does not stay pushed in then the GFCI is bad and needs to be replaced.

If you replaced the gfci make sure you put the feed on the line side.The outlet will be marked line and load.

Ok. Next step is to check the breaker for the bathroom if it is marked on the breaker box. If not you need to go through every breaker. Turn each breaker off then on one at a time. Sometimes a breaker will blow but it will look like it isn't. The breaker switch may have a slight play in it but still look like it's on. If the breaker in question it doesn't engage then the breaker has failed and needs to be replaced. Another thing to look for is if any other outlets are not working in the immediate area. They more likely are connected in line with the GCFI and protected by it. A bad outlet or loose wire could be the problem.

Check that your breakers are on for that bathroom

This type of issue is best left to a certified electrician. With that being said, there is likely a loose or broken wire in another junction box and this can be a hazard. I would strongly suggest getting a professional to take a look.

It is either tripped and needs to be reset or the plug is bad. Best to get an electrician to troubleshoot the issue if you aren't familiar with electricity.

You should definitely call an electrician for this. You may need to try hitting the reset button but beyond that, call a pro.
