  • Plant a bush or put a trellis in front of it.

First, check with the gas company to see how they obtain the reading. Ours uses satellite so they have to be able to have a clear shot of it. You could put up lattice or picket fencing on 1 side. Then decorate that with seasonal decor. That's what I"m working on doing for our farmhouse, where we have the HVAC unit & the propane gas tank out front.

How about a lattice screen to hide it from view? It would still be accessible to the gas company.

Maybe the area with the potted plant and the meter can be planted with a hardy ground cover like pachysandra. It won't get very high, but it will at least take attention away from the meter. Maybe you can get a fairly inexpensive wall-mount holder to hang your house from, as well. Then you can extend the pachysandra in that area also. Have fun!

If it can be read remotely, then I’d build a “light bollard” box, to put over it like a hat.

The light(s) could be dollar store solar lights.

the box could be exterior plywood or siding on a 2x2 frame.
