The before- a much needed makeover!

We selected a Carrara marble tile for the backsplash over the stove and cooking surface. The countertops are a mable mixed with honed black absolute and the center island was custom crafted to be narrow but very functional within the space. The hardwood flooring was stained prior to assembly and therefore allowing for the mix of tones in the process. This gives a nice rustic feel to the wood.

Another before- drastic difference!

The six burner range, hood assembly is a professional grade appliance and fits beautifully in this area.

I would recommend going with a dark counter and back splash for contrast.

Thank you Very good suggestion any suggestions on how to brighten a dark, plain looking living room ? There just isn't any anything in here that says wow.

Could you lighten up your furniture? Maybe add a few white frames mixed in on the mantle. And a bright area rug would help..maybe a teal??

Hang white Curtians. Add a light tan rug near couch/coffee table area. Hang a silver or light framed mirror over mantle. Move picture frames to another wall and paint a few white. Add a floor plant in corner for color. Light colored pillows and have one pillow as a pop of color.

Declutter the mantle, paint cabinet under TV a lighter color. Raise TV and add a few (3) decorative pieces to cabinet. Use color for impact on mantle, cabinet pieces and a few pillows on couch. Change window treatments, maybe white or pastel to go with pillows. It will look great.

All your personality is concentrated on the mantel. Reduce and spread it around. A colorful throw and pillows on the sofa with a rug that picks up one of the colors. Curtains that carry one of the colors, also. A painted or stenciled phrase or piece of ironwork or architectural accent for over the doorway to lift your eye upwards. It will give a feeling of spaciousness. The idea of lifting the TV up is a good one, also.

Hi Lorsue, we used a Carrara marble tile as our splash back for this kitchen. Thank you for the interest!

I love white kitchens and to me they remain a classic in the design world which means they're not only attractive but generally a safe investment too :D
