How To Make Rod Pocket Drop Cloth Curtains
Drop cloth is great for making curtains if you are a DIYer because it's an inexpensive way to get lots of fabric. It also has a soft, natural look as a drape. If you are looking for a quick way to cover some of your windows without spending a lot on fabric, consider making these drop cloth curtains.
To make the curtains the first step is to measure you window. I recommend hanging the curtains higher than your window and wider than your window. This makes the window look larger.

If you are careful about the size drop cloth you buy (they come in lots of sizes) you can make them just by adjusting the top and not hemming the bottom.
The first step to make your rod pocket is to measure around the rod. You'll want to add at 1/2 inch for ease.
Fold the top of your fabric over by half the measurement around the rod plus 1/4 inch and press the fold. Turn the raw edge under and press.
If you want the top of your curtain to have a header, you'll need to add half of the header length to the fold.
With a yard stick, mark the fabric where you want the header to be. This will help you see where to sew.
The last step is to sew one seem down the top for the header (if you want one) and the other at the bottom of your fold where you've turned the edge under.
