How can I repurpose a sturdy, plastic take out tray?
Because of ordering take out from various restaurants, I now have about a dozen of the hard plastic trays with attached covers. Wonder if there's a way to repurpose them rather than send them to the dump.

You can use the tray and the cover as a mini greenhouse for growing microgreens or starting any kind of seeds!
Hi Ticia, Perhaps you can reuse them for short term food storage. Prep up some individual salads and take it to work for lunch the next day. One should be able to get a few re uses from them before they go to recycle.
Hi Tricia, I use them to organize craft items. You can label the fronts and stack them on shelves. You can also separate the top from the bottom and use as trays beneath plants to keep your furniture free of water rings. Some of them work great for small toy storage if you have children.
Here's a video with some ideas.

Use to take food to a party or dessert to a guest that invites you to dinner. Use to store craft supplies or things in the garage.

We have quite a few and my daughter uses them for her slime shop. :) Or, you could use them for office drawer/craft supplies storage.
I save them to store leftovers, start seeds, and under plants to protect the surface from watering. Good luck and stay safe!

I use those for leftovers all the time, they're great for that.
I also would use it to eat off of again!
If you like to decorate for christmas - take the clear ones and wrap them in different colored cellophane to look like giant hard candies. Tie ribbon to secure the cellophane and make the tails. If you want you can make a garland of them with lights inside and string them around a doorway.
I keep mine and use them for future food storage in my fridge. Or if people come for dinner, I always have a plastic container they can take left overs in and don't have to worry about returning.
