I want to use aluminum screen porch system. How do I attach a celling support beam to siding covered facia board?
There’s siding on your fascia? It looks like everything you need is already in place. I’d suggest consulting with the screen company about how to install. Honestly though, it’s probably best left to pros unless you really know what you’re doing.
I don't know if this will help or not:
Thank you for your help. Can you direct me to more info regarding the use of "C and H" channels discussed in your post?
Here is a video to help, it is not using aluminium but the idea looks the same.https://youtu.be/wPbF9V0-KbU
Hello! Our contractor used the Screen tight system it is diy friendly. Much more attractive than conventional roll and staple screening. We have repaired a damaged screen ourselves. I recommend looking at this system- components.
I would assume your screen "system" is a kit with frames. Without knowing the details of your house, I would guess that the frames can just be attached with exterior grade screws into your porch frame.
Hi Tank, What type of siding do you have? and could you post a close up pic of the area you are concerned with
Hi Baxter, In order to attach you frame work for the screen porch, You will have to remove the siding and facia that is in the way and after the screen frame is mounted to wood, reinstall the siding. You may have to purchase different flashing to the new area. It will be a bit of finicky work, but very doable.
HI OURS WAS A REGULAR PORCH .WE DID OURS WITH THE SCREEN TYPE SYSTEM. ..WE HAD THE STAPLE AND THE OLD SCREEN KEPT SAGGING BLOWING OUT. .SCREEN TIGHT IS THE BEST. .FIRST ESTIMATE WAS TWENTY THOUSAND. NO WAY. .WE DID IT OURSELVES. .I LOVE IT ..IT IS LIKE A EXTRA ROOM FOR ME .GOOD LUCK. .BETTY .
I used screentight system when we did our porch and it is easy to replace the screens which we did after 10 years of use. Looks great and costs very little and very easy to put up yourself.
