Hi Beverly. Old doors can be used to create a headboard. We have wanted to do this for several years now. We will lay the door on its side and attach a mantle down the entire length. If we need more length, we will add 4 X 4's on both ends and we will put some sort of decorative finials on top of each 4 X 4. Then we will paint it all the same color and attach it to the studs in the wall above our bed. Good luck Beverly. Hoping all is well with you.
